Fender Flare Types
There are many types of fender flares out on the market today. Here is a list for you to better understand the different options and to make the right choice on your fender flare purchase:
Street Flares
Street flares are ideal for people looking for a sleek and stylish look, rather than focusing strictly on protection from the elements. These fender flares fit right up against the vehicle’s body, offering a great custom look but slightly lacking protection from debris. Most common applications for these fender flares are on lowered trucks or sport trucks.
OE Style Fender Flares
These fender flares are very similar to that of the street flares. They pop out just a bit, yet still have that sleek and stylish look. OE style fender flares sit a little bit higher along the fender of the vehicle offering a bit more of an aggressive look than the street flares. The most common applications for OE style fender flares are on lowered trucks or sport trucks as well.
Extend-A-Fender Flares
This type of fender flare is more contoured. Meaning that it offers more protection from road debris than the sleek designs listed above. As a matter of fact, these flares offer up to two inches of tire coverage. Extend-A-Fender® flare’s most common applications are on full-sized pickup trucks, e.g., F-150, Super Duty, Silverado/Sierra 1500, Silverado/Sierra HD, Ram 1500, and Ram HD.
Pocket Style Fender Flares
This type of fender flare looks as if it has been bolted onto your vehicle. Providing significant coverage for your tires. They sit the same way on the vehicle and offer the same tire coverage as the Extend-a-Fender® flares but offer that more aggressive ‘bolt-on’ appearance instead. Pocket style fender flares are the most common style of fender flare on the road today. Most popular on full-sized and mid-sized pickup trucks.
Flat Style Fender Flares (Jeep)
This fender flare is designed for aggressive looks and extreme tire coverage on Jeep Wranglers and Jeep Cherokees. Offering durable, flexible and stylish protection for your ultimate Jeep rig. Flat style fender flares also allow for more tire flexibility within your wheel wells.

Add a spray on coating to help make your vehicle even further protected from the elements. That’s right! Add LINE-X to your fender flares and heads will turn. We can color match, spray black, or two-tone the fender flares to really make your vehicle stand out. Some fender flares even have the option to be color matched directly from the manufacturer using factory paint. So out of the box they are ready to mount to your vehicle with that attractive OEM finish.
